Q: I’m not getting water to come out of my sprinkler.  I am using 5/8” garden hose in both inlet and outlet with the included hose attachments.  Inlet is 10-12’ long and connected to house bib. Pump runs and I have primed an endless amount of times.

Works good but beware of non-U.S. pipe threads

I bought this to put in-line to boost the pressure and flow in a garden hose to supply a single yard sprinkler, so this review reflects how it worked for my application. It comes with two plastic 1” NPT to male garden hose thread adapters. This means you’ll need to use either a washing machine (double female) supply hose, or a double female adapter to connect the supply hose to the pump. Here’s the real issue; The pump inlet and outlet ports have 1” BSP (British Standard Pipe) treads, which is similar to our U.S. standard 1” NPT, except BSP uses a 55 degree thread angle with 11 threads per inch, whereas NPT uses 60 degree threads and 11 ½ threads per inch. This means even though they will go together, they will leak, even when using copious amounts Teflon tape. You’re not going to find BSP fittings at your local plumbing supply house either. I ended up using 1” NPT brass fittings with male and female garden hose threads instead and lots of Teflon tape. It still leaks a little, a few drips a second, but is not a problem in my outdoor application. Performance wise, it increases the pressure by 35 psi at the sprinkler head with water flowing, so it does what I expected it to very nicely.

Won't take more than light duty

I bought this pump a couple of years ago to pump out my auto inspection pit. It pumped about 5,000 gallons over the period and it just stopped pumping. Too expensive to pitch, will try to repair it with a new impeller/pump unit IF I CAN FIND REPAIR PARTS!

Know that it is not ready to use!

nice looking pump and I was excited about it until after i bought it and got to the jobsite i realized it has a 1: inlet and outlet port and the valves that you need don't come with it. So, the "ready to use" on the outside of the box is not true. I went to 3 stores and no one had a 1" reducer in stock. i took the pump back and accepted that i just waisted my entire morning.
