Latch is not really a latch to keep lid closed.

The latch is not really a locking style latch. Disappointed because I was sure my grandfathers from 50 years ago actually latched when shut so you couldn't open it until you turned it.
Bought this with hopes to keep the raccoons from getting into the cooler when camping (at least until they figured it out). But this one doesnt seem to keep lid down when pull up on it.
Dont need a bear proof cooler, just one to keep raccoons out. Should have spent the extra money on a Yeti or RTIC.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Colman green cooler memories

Lots of memories with these old school Coleman coolers took them on Boy Scout trips and with my own camping buddies still have the original one from back in the 70s. I have acquired two more of the same era since then durable to use anywhere.

I grew up with one of these in every vehicle. Weather was going to the local meat market with my parents or a camping trip or a trip all the way out to the West Coast. These kept our food cold and lasted for generations. And if I ask my parents I'm sure they still have theirs.
