I purchased an aerator from Tractor Supply with high hopes of getting my lawn aerated and overseeded on schedule. Unfortunately, when I opened the box, I realized two essential row bars were missing by step 2b of assembly. This was extremely frustrating, as I had limited time off work and was counting on this project being completed this week. While I’ve reached out to customer support in hopes of getting the missing parts expedited, this issue has caused unnecessary delays. Disappointing experience overall.

This is the second Brinly product that I own. Its well made. Easy to assemble. Instructions are well detailed and well explained. Best of all it's American Made.

Quality product

After reading several reviews on some less expensive aerators, I decided to go with this one. Being made in the USA was a plus and all parts were accounted for and in perfect condition. Assembly was pretty straight forward and I was able to complete it by myself. I am wheelchair bound so I made a hitch for my 4x4 wheelchair and another one for my zero turn mower. I used my wheelchair for the first use. I added 175 pounds of concrete pavers as ballast. I have 13,500 sqft of lawn and I finished it in a little over an hour. I went pretty slow to make sure I got good penetration with the spikes. There is no sign of excessive wear anywhere on the unit and I think it will last for many years. One word of advice, when storing, release the wheels so they don't develop flat spots.

Pleased with quality, assembly instructions and ease of use. Better than I expected for the price.

This plug aerator does the job well. I add 4 CMU blocks to the tray and can get 3" plugs out of firm soil with no problem. It takes a bit to put together, but it is well worth it.

I boughtend this and used it real good . It works just like the ones you seen in the movies the spaghetti westerns ones with Clint Eadyarn it pulls plugs out of the ground real long and pitch’s them way out there and stuff the say it’s hard to assembly but it’s really not it’s as easy as someone Hillary ripping Bill.

I purchased the 48" plug aerator a month ago. The box arrived from FedEx in good condition. All parts were received in non-damaged condition and with no missing parts. The various bags of bolts, nuts, etc., were well marked and the assembly instructions were very clear and easy to follow. I separated and marked all of the various size nuts, bolts, washers, etc. prior to assembling which made the job much easier. There are a couple of assembly steps where it takes two people. That is not a critique, just a comment. The aerator itself seems to be made of high quality materials. However, I have not used it yet. That will occur during fall aeration, so that will be the real test of how well the aerator works. My only critique is that the tray could use pre-drilled holes for tie-down straps for the concrete blocks. I like the fact that this aerator can be pulled by a ZTR mower, and that the leveling feature allows it to be used with virtually any hitch height. As a precaution, I will not be pulling it in the transport position with any concrete weights in the tray, but that is just a precautionary preference to avoid putting stress on the transport wheels.

Have not used aerator yet. Had this aerator about one month but there has been no rain for about 5 weeks. Ground is rock hard. I will update this review once the rain comes and the ground softens up.

After loading up with blocks it pulled and maneuvered effortlessly behind my golf cart

It was easy to assemble. I modified it by installing a two inch ball coupler using the existing holes provided. My John Deere X730 has a two inch ball installed for my accessories. I have used the aeroator twice so far. ( 2 acres ) I used 160 pounds of ballast. The aeroator did an outstanding job aerating. The plugs were uniform in size. I highly recommend this product.

The aerator is very well-made and does an excellent job. Compared to competitors that use a thinner gauge metal this product will last for many years and do an excellent job of core plugging the lawn.

I like having the aerator available so I can use it without a reservation at a rental place, running to get it and take it back. I can use it as much as I need and at a moment’s notice.

I was extremely impressed with the results of this product when I used it for the first time this month. Once finished with the aeration of my lawn I inspected this aerator and all parts withstood the use without any damage whatsoever. This aerator is well constructed and appears to be extremely durable for many years of use.

Tried the aerator for the first time today. Assembly was lengthy but strait forward. First tried four 40-lb bags of water softener salt but the plug depth was only about 1/2”. Added a fifth bag for a total of 200 lbs to get 1 1/2 to 2” plugs. Happy with that. Overall result was good.. Aerator tubes never clogged. Ran over dryer hard pack areas twice. I was anxious about whether this aerator could do the job when I was buying. No longer anxious. Would recommend this tow-behind aerator. Heavy duty construction. Easy operation. True that you can’t reach the wheel engage bar from behind the tractor but not that big a deal. Dragging the aerator behind a tractor sure beats the exertion needed to push around a rented aerator machine.

I was greatly impressed with the products, got everything done

Well built, that was what I was looking for. So for it is working really well.

I used the aerator on hard compacted AL clay. Even without sharpening the spoons it dug 1.5-2” holes. I then swept up the plugs with a Brinly lawn sweeper and applied seed, fertilizer, and soil conditioner. Everything worked as planned and the grass is beginning to green in. Once we’ll established I will aerate again but this time after a rain to try to get to 2-2.5”.

I was pleasantly surprised at the heavy duty construction of this plug aerator. It is built with heavy gage steel and is heavy enough to plug holes in hard packed yard without adding cement block for weight. works great for my 1.5 acres yard

After purchasing this over a month ago, I used it to aerate 1.5 acres of Georgia clay. Pros: Components are all made from very thick steel. Powdercoating looks solid. I expect this to last decades, not years. The lever to raise tines works properly even when loaded with concrete blocks. Cons: Assembly issues: One washer was improperly stamped (looked like a 'C') and therefore unusable. Two holes in the spoons needed to be touched up with a die grinder for the bolt to fit through. Usability: There are no convenient edges to attach a ratcheting tie-down for the purposes of securing concrete blocks.
