Ideal for larger lawns, Brinly's super wide 48 Tow-Behind Plug Aerators are the tool you need to keep your lawn lush and beautiful. This heavy-duty aerator features 32 heat-treated steel tines that extract up to 3 in. soil plugs from your lawn, allowing water, seed, and fertilizer to reach the root zone. The plugs contain microorganisms that are beneficial to the soil, so leaving them to break down on the lawn helps replenish vital nutrients. Each plugging spoon can be replaced individually, providing less expensive maintenance versus having to replace the entire spoon shaft. Four separate welded tine sections rotate independently, preventing lawn damage during tractor turns. And for those really compacted areas where maximum penetration is needed, an additional 200 lb. of weight may be added to the fully enclosed steel tray. Need to cross the driveway or drive over a sidewalk? Simply engage the never-flat transport wheels using the side lever.

Because this machine is universal to the various hitch heights, there are adjustments in the setup to make this machine as level as possible. You may find that the setup with your tractor may cause the machine not to be completely level. This is normal; the tray will become more level once the transport wheels are released. I bought the 48” plugger a couple weeks ago. I am 76 years old and followed the instructions for assembly. I first thought I would need help but I put the whole thing together by myself I did use a cordless impact tool which made the job a lot easier. It took me a little over 3hrs. It is made from heavy metal. I have not aerated yet but will use 5 concrete blocks when I do. Wish it had grease fittings just not sure how how the plastic bushings will last. Will update after the fall.

Great heavy duty aerator

I bought this a few weeks ago and used it on my entire yard. I watered the front lawn two days prior to aerating to soften up the dirt, and got lucky with the back yard as we finally got rain for about two prior to doing the rear and this aerator did a great job. I had 200 pounds of block in the tray and the tines went as deep as they were long. I'm very happy with this purchase and highly recommend it.

Nice aerator

Assembly was mildly cumbersome, but solid once put together. Rolls well with 6 cinder blocks in the tray. Manual raising and lowering the tines is easy.
