I have this on 900 ft of wire. I have a 6 foot copper ground rod sunk into a perpetually wet spot on my place. Was weak. So I also attached it to the ground rod for my breaker box on the side of my house and to the one for the power pole in my hard. All new insulators nothing touching. How weak is it? The grass is wet from a recent rain and I can stand barefooted and hold the wire. And I have to really concentrate to feel anything. Tried a piece of fencing wire and pliers and touched to positive wire at box and then over to ground. Nothing. My old box would actually make an arc like a spark plug. This one...nothing. I called the tractor supply I got it from and they wont refund replace. Even though I bought the protection plan and it's only been installed 3 hrs. And no it's not in the weather. It's in the dry.

It was easy to install. As long as your grass is cut and ‘does touch the fence. I have 4 dogs and they kept digging and jumping the gate when left in the backyard. They haven’t dug or got out since installing electric gate.

Bought this unit to keep deer out of a small garden. Store person said it would definitely keep deer and anything that touched it out. But, the box doesn't show deer on the uses. Oh, it will work for this short distance, my small garden. Well, deer have thick hides and no it won't keep them out. I grabbed the wire to see how bad it shocked after five rows of okra were wiped out. It pulsed a voltage, but didn't make me let go. It's going back for a very large high output charger.

Works fine, but even after putting several rods in damp soil it will only put out 1000V in a small area, not 6000V. Maybe a typo?

Does the job well for my needs. We have nosey, naughty 8 month old pups that won’t respect a normal fence and will try to jump over and trample any temporary fencing we put up. Trying to grow new grass so we resorted to this and it works perfect! Just enough to give them a zap and remember not to mess with it next time.
