Plumbing

If you own a home, farm or another facility, ensure its plumbing systems are functioning at their best with the right tools and parts. Get help from a host of plumbing products available at Tractor Supply, and learn more about what equipment goes into delivering and managing water flow before your next project.

Move Water Effectively for Essential Systems

Whether you’re doing a professional installation of a new plumbing system, or just completing a few DIY repairs to improve wastewater elimination, we stock the tools, parts and accessories you need to take care of business. They include:

Pipe, Fittings, Valves and Hoses

If you want to install water and gas lines, the right pipes and hoses are key. For residences or commercial settings, a galvanized pipe is a durable option. Choose copper pipes for better corrosion resistance or polyethylene (PE or PEX) pipes for their resistance to freezing. Use polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipes if you’re putting in a drain, waste or vent system, and either concrete, steel or plastic culvert pipes if you're draining under a road or embankment. Fittings, such as adapters, bushings, nipples and tees, connect them, while ball, gate and other valves control their movement throughout the system.

Sink, Faucet and Toilet Parts

Supply lines may bring water to bathroom, kitchen and other plumbing fixtures, and sewer hoses may drain it away, with help from P-traps to contain sewer gases. None of this could happen, however, without several other components. Aerators help soften water flow through sink faucets, while basin stoppers help collect waste. The fill valves, flapper seals and levers in toilets, on the other hand, control the water level in their tanks. Use a repair kit to fix common issues, but if you need help dissolving clogs in pipes, consider a drain opener solution.

Water Heating and Treatment Systems

These help improve water quality for showers, dishwashing, laundry and other needs. Water heaters provide water at just the right temperature, either from a storage tank or with an on-demand system that saves basement space. Common parts in these systems range from anodes and heat exchangers to thermostats and pumps, and you can repair leaks, scour away rust and address other issues with the right tools and solutions.

Water filters help to eliminate sediment, chlorine, bacteria and other contaminants in a water heater. Water softeners are variants on this theme, removing calcium and magnesium to help prevent scale and minerals from building up.

Pumps and Well and Septic Systems

If you want to draw water and distribute and circulate it, you’ll need the right pump to do it. For wastewater management and groundwater systems, these are sump and septic tank pumps and well pumps, respectively. A sump pump moves water from a sump pit, usually in a basement or crawlspace, to prevent flooding, while a septic pump sends it from a tank to a drain field or another treatment system. A well pump, on the other hand, pulls water from a hole drilled in the soil, where the water accumulates.

Plumbing Tools and Accessories

Whether you’re building a plumbing system or maintaining or repairing one, these are must-haves for the job. Tools, such as hacksaws, cutters and pipe wrenches, are used to cut and shape pipe, with straps to secure them and prevent them shifting. Pipe cement, however, is used to join pipes, with washers to seal connections and plumber’s putty to waterproof them. If you need to keep pipes from freezing, consider either heating them via cables or covering them with insulation. You can clear clogs in them with help from a plunger, auger or pipe cleaner.
