Well made and works well

I recently purchased a Yardbird Chicken Plucker. It is well designed and constructed. It was easy to assemble, however, it is quite heavy and will require two people to get it out of the box. The instructions are crystal clear with good illustrations. I was absolutely amazed by how well it works. I processed five ducks, and it removed 99% of the feathers which is terrific as waterfowl are much more difficult to pluck than poultry. It was super easy to clean after using. I am going to get a five gallon bucket and drill holes on one side to catch the feathers and direct the water away from the plucker. The feathers are great for your compost pile. The only thing I disliked about the plucker is the location of the on/off switch. I emailed the company with a couple of suggestions about the location the power switch. They responded quickly and forwarded the email to the product engineer, and he emailed me back thanking me for my feedback. I am so happy with this purchase. I will never pluck another chicken by hand.

As other reviewers have said, this plucker died after only 2 birds!!! My belief is that it is a design flaw with the electrical not being properly shielded from the water used while plucking the birds. I was setup to process 30 birds and it completely stopped working after the first 2, just great. Hoping Tractor Supply will take back....we will see. DONT BUY!!!!

I couldn't be happier with my purchase of my yard bird plucker. This machine takes a dirty and tedious task from 10mins+ down to under a minute for each bird. It is very nicely built as well.

Quality save your money

The first time I used this machine it was amazing. That was the last time i can say that. Since then it has been one problem after another. DO NOT BUY THIS. The second time I used it, it continually tripped the internal fuse on the plug, wall gfi not tripped.
I purchased a new on off switch, which promptly blew again. I bypassed this by wiring a ply straight on, no fuse. This worked for another batch of 10 birds.
I went to use it again I plugged it in turn the on switch on nothing. I ordered a new capacitor for it wired that on and it worked.
Until the next time I wanted to use it plug it in no power on off switch does nothing.
The quality of this machine is extremely poor. After each use, I ensure that it was cleaned and dried and stored yet each and every time I went to use it there’s a new electrical issue with it. I truly wish I saved my money and purchased a drillbit plucker as there is very little to go wrong with that.
Again, do not buy this junk
