Ariat Women's Billie Jean Western Long-Sleeve Button-Down Shirt

Comfortable, breathable, and professional! Will buy more for my every day wear

I love these shirts! I'm 5'6" with wide shoulders and well over 130 lbs. I'm usually a Medium for shirts, and the Medium in these fits perfectly. If you have wide shoulders, this brand is a great choice! Now back to the shirt: The fabric is different on each color. Last year, they had a light purple color, and that was my favorite fabric--lightweight, breathable, and tightly woven enough to block a lot of sun. I tried 3 colors this year. For my purposes (working outside in the heat and trying not to get sunburnt), the yellow is the best fabric available now. It is very nice and lightweight, and is woven just the slightest bit looser than the purple was. I also tried the white and green shirt: it did not pass the test for me, as the fabric is very thin and see-through. It is a much looser weave, more like a lightweight linen. This would be perfect if you are wearing a white tank top or sports bra underneath, and will be somewhere hot but out of the sun. The white and green shirt was so comfortable, but just too thin for me. Finally, I tried the orange shirt: it is a thicker and heavier fabric than any of the other shirts I tried. It is too heavy in my opinion to wear in very hot weather, but perfect for looking a little dressed up while working outside on a coolish (50's to 70's) spring or fall day. I wore it this week to work as a field biologist and found it to be a great layer under my jacket in the morning, and then a great shirt for the rest of the day once it warmed up to about 60F. Overall, the style of these shirts is lovely and well-detailed, and they are very well-made and good quality. My thought is that you may have to do a little research to figure out which ones are the right fabric for your needs, but there seem to be options and they all fit the same. I definitely recommend this shirt! You'll look polished and capable...AND be comfortable!
