Q: You say you can use anthracite, but then you say you can't use nut coal, which is anthractie is't it?

- A: Hi there, According to the vendor: I don’t see where we say you can’t use Nut Coal. We say “nut” coal is preferred over “egg” coal, referring to the size of the chunk. “Most sizes of Bituminous Coal will work in a coal furnace; for best results we recommend large “nut” coal to small “egg” coal (1-3/4” diameter to 4” diameter). When burning Anthracite, use “egg” or “broken” with sizes between 2-5/16” through 4-3/8”. Note that it is important to the long life of your stove to buy coal which has been sized and cleaned. Cleaning ensures removal of rocks and other minerals. Never use coal smaller than 1” or larger than 5” in diameter. Small sized coal will smother the fire. Too large a size of coal will not burn well.”2 years agoHelpful?

Anthracite is perhaps the best coal fuel because of its long, even burn time, high heat output, and cleanliness which make it a good choice for the home. However, keep in mind it is a much more difficult fuel to use, requires more care and patience, is not so widely available, and is usually much more expensive than Bituminous."2 years agoHelpful?

Great budget stove for concrete workshop

This is a great budget stove for my 18x30 concrete block garage. I have a 9 foot ceiling, the rafters are insulated. I am burning anthracite nut. I can easily squeeze 8 hours out of this unit. It drafts good using a 12.5ft stainless chimney. I always use a Dwyer Mark II with my stoves. The shaker grate sucks, I flipped mine to face forward. The ashpit door is a little cheap. Other than that, I Iike it and it is far from a piece of junk.
Yes, I recommend this product.
