Victor Pest Easy Set Rat Trap

I bought four baby chicks, this spring all very healthy and thriving. I needed help with what to feed them, being a new chicken owner. I received very good advice every time I came asking questions. I appreciate that they loaded the feed in my vehicle and did it with a smile on their face.

I always buy those with a yellow plastic foundation. For me, they work like a dream. I also had same brand Victor’s with metal part plate. I will put bait on with no luck. They even lick peanut butter off of it and the trap was still on the trigger. I think these mice take me for a cat so they’re playing games with me. But no more.

Junk, don’t waste your money!!!!

The plastic triggers will no set and are very dangerous do not recommend. The old metal triggers are way easier to use and safer

I don't know why you put plastic triggers on these. Absolute garbage. The plastic is too slippery to properly hold the lever. The metal bait trigger was a far better design. I'll see what the competition has.

These traps are very poorly made and not durable at all. The staples holding the main spring in place come loose and pop off, and there is no easy fix. I have purchased 4 so far, and 2 have failed. I would avoid this brand and try something else.

HORRIBLE... I bought 2 since I have rats in my shed . There is no way you can set it under the yellow plastic. While trying to set it ...went off on my thumb so be careful. It's very powerful. I will be returning it. Buyers beware.. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

Very very hard to set this plastic piece of crap. Every time I tried to set it to put the metal bar under the plastic it wouldn't catch. It almost came down and hit my finger. What happened to the Metal rat traps? They were easier to set. Do not buy.

We’ve had this for over a year and caught many big and small rats. My husband had mastered setting it properly and never had issues. We tried like every rat trap on the market and landed with this large one and it’s been by far the best.

Works but be careful.

Impossible to set. I've dealt with rat traps with metal bait holder/triggers for 60 years, so it's not as if I don't know how to set a trap, but these were impossible to get set.

After first use will not latch. Junk don’t recommend buying it. Have several knots on fingers trying it second time

I have no problem with this product. If you have 1/4 of a brain you can easily adjust the catch pan and catch many rodents.

I saw that the reviews were split down the middle , and since the cost was low, I took a chance and bought one. It is a junk. The plastic bait holder is too big and any bait must be in the extreme inside edge or the plate is too heavy to set the trap. I see why some said you could t even set the trap , if you have more than a very small bait toward the end of the bait plate it won’t even latch. DO NOT BUY THIS , if you do you will be disappointed

Don't buy. They are hard to set and don't last because of the weak plastic.

I bought 2 and they are too sensitive. You can't set them even empty. Setting it to firm doesn't do anything. The yellow trigger pad can't keep the bar in place. The second you release, so does the death bar. I don't know if I got defective ones but they will not set at all. I used the small ones for mice without issues, never had a trap fail like this brand new. Very frustrating

The yellow plastic rat traps are superior to the older metal bait traps. There is less friction with plastic and the chances of missed snaps is far lower. This is the best trap of any other fancy trap available. Great product!

these traps in my opinion, have always been the high standards in quality that Victor has provided in there products and the reliability is second to none.

Very effective works great

Someone somewhere thought it would be a good idea to make this rat trap better. Well, that didn't work. I grew up using Victor brand mouse and rat traps. They always worked and were simple enough for anyone to set. The original traps had a metal bait holder. These new traps have a junk piece of yellow colored plastic that is meant to hold the bait and lock the trap bar in place to set the trap. The old original traps set securely and would hold bait. These new traps will not set easily at all. After adding bait, you try and set the lever under the bait panel. It will not hold the lever. IF you do not smash the nail off of your thumb, the bait that you have applied will end up across the room being sniffed out by your dog. IF you baited you trap like me with a small piece of sausage smeared with peanut butter, this bait will end up stuck about six feet off the ground on the wall behind you I don't know who the genius was that decided we needed to try and improve a classic trap, but I guess he thought he was smart inventing a "better mouse trap". I want to catch and KILL the large mouse that is eating my birdseed in my garage ! Needless to say, I will be returning the rat trap I purchased this afternoon at TSC as soon as I drive back into town.

Worst rat trap ever. If you try to set it you're likely to break your thumb. I've been using this brand for all my adult life without a problem. Now they use plastic and it won't work.

Works well. After using it I see why it is the choice of professionals.
