Not quite what I expected.

These canes are made from birch wood. They are not as strong as the hickory canes. The curve at the top of the cane is smaller and my hand doesn't fit around the top of it as well. It makes it a little more difficult to control. Not a bad cane, just wish it were made to the same dimensions as the hickory canes.

Too light - not enough bulk to use with large animals. tapered too much - needs a larger tip Unfavorably compared to the old oak livestock canes. 36" length is great.
