Developed specifically for older horses, Triple Crown Senior features a beet pulp-based formula with higher nutrient and fat content to provide the digestive assistance and calories older horses require to maintain good body condition. This feed can be mixed with water to form a mash for horses that have difficulty chewing and swallowing and has enough bulk fiber to be used as a sole ration for horses unable to eat hay or pasture. It is ideal for horses of any age needing additional fiber and reduced starch and sugar levels. Available in a 50 lb. bag.

Feeding recommendations are based on average daily requirements. Horse's needs may vary based on age, work level, metabolism, weather and other factors. Caring Hearts for Horses Outreach and Sanctuary

While we have tried many different sr feeds including purina, estrella fortified, Thrive to name a few, Rice bran, etc. nothing has helped our 18 and 24 yr old gelding the way this has. It has the right amounts of everything. Beet pulp shreds, rice bran, alfalfa vitamins etc. Our sanctuary seniors have navicular and are hard keepers. This is the first time the 24 yr old appendix quarter has had a topline. For the most part he leads a life of leisure and still has gotten a topline! lol And he is acting like a younger man playing with the 3 yr old. We have and still are using this feed for our rescues also. The buckskin in the pics was only a 2 month process of grass and sr feed.
When someone trys to talk us into another feed compare what it would run us to use the other brand and match the added supplementation and only once would it cost my 10 a month less. Not a good reason for us to change. And in 2020 they have offered a 25$ card for sending in 12 proofs of purchase. If you don't use enough to keep them we are happy to get them from you, lol.
As for being a pellet and soaking. They soak up the water so fast that I don't worry about the boys choking at all. I dump the 3qt scoop maintenance amount for them, into their feed buckets and add the same amount in water or a little more and it is Adios tiny 5/32 pellets. NO CHOKE WORRIES.
We are also ecstatic about Tractor Supply carrying your feed. When we do our fundraiser tables at our 2 area locations we put 2 bags of Triple Crown at the corners of our table and all of the funds we take in those days pays for just that.

Price misleading

I just specifically drove to a TSC because online it says they are a certain price per bag. When I got to the store the price was more expensive than advertised, and when i asked about it they said the online price is different and wouldn't match it. Would have gone to my regular store if it was going to be the same price. Felt it was a little misleading.

They took my order charged my card and canceled the order because they didn't have it in stock. Now I have to wait 3-5 days to get my money back that I paid for. If it's not in stock they should tell you before you pay that's just wrong. I am not very happy, will buy my product elsewhere.

Our senior horses have done really well on this feed. Their coats are visibly glossier, and it has helped them keep on weight over the winter. All horse feed is ridiculously expensive, but I feel like if I am going to spend it I may as well do so on a feed that delivers!

I have been feeding Triple Crown senior for years. It is a great low sugar feed to encourage horses to eat their supplements. It works particularly well to mix with powdered supplements if you add some warm water to it.
I have also used it as a feed for an elderly horse, she did well on it for years.

This is my favorite weight gaining grain. Its my go to for a skinny horse. 30 days and they are slick and fat. Its so good that many of my rescue horses have to come off of it and switch to TC Lite.

Scout is doing well on this feed

Scout has been on this feed 1 1/2 months. He has gained some weight back. Im only feeding him 3 lbs a day. He gets 2 lbs Alfalfa/timothy & 2 lbs plain beet pulp plenty of hay. He is feeling better and has more energy. He actually loped from far pasture when called to feed! I love the look & texture of the feed

Triple Crown Senior has been a game changer

I’ve tried several senior feeds over the years, and Triple Crown Senior stands out by far. It’s easy to chew, digests well, and I love that it’s low in starch and sugar but still high in fiber and fat. My senior horses maintain weight better, have more consistent energy, and look healthier overall — better topline, better coats, and fewer digestive issues.
One of the biggest benefits is how versatile it is. I can feed it dry or soaked into a mash, which is perfect for older horses with dental issues. It’s also palatable — even picky eaters clean their buckets.
I appreciate that it can be used as a complete feed if needed, which gives me peace of mind when hay intake is limited. You can tell this feed is thoughtfully formulated for aging horses, not just marketed as “senior.”
If you have an older horse, a hard keeper, or one with digestive sensitivities, I can’t recommend Triple Crown Senior enough. It’s worth every penny.
