Q: This is 3cu ft and weighs 27 lbs. the regular shavings is 8 cu ft and weighs 22 lbs. the fine is 5.5 cu ft and weighs 24 lbs. i would normalky think finer shavings are heavier due to a more dense packing. But the weights are nowhere close to equal. Why?

Had to switch to these new fine shavings in the blue bag after the previous fine shavings in the yellow bag became more and more coarse to the point they were no longer effective and absorbent in horse stalls.
These new blue bag fine shavings are very absorbent but lack the loft and cushioning for the horses in their stalls.
I wish tractor supply could get their supplier to go back the old fine yellow bag shavings as they used to be and that we had bought for years.
