Q: Are mice trapped inside to die?
a year ago- A: The rodent will eat the bait in the Tomcat Mouse Killer Child Resistant, Disposable Bait Station, leave the bait station and will continue to wander about until such time that the bait affects him to the point that it stops moving. There is nothing in the bait that will prevent the rodent from smelling while it is decomposing after it dies. If a mother rodent dies before the babies are self sufficient then the babies will also die. There is no information available regarding if the active would be transmitted to babies through the mothers milk.a year agoHelpful?
Q: What is considered a lethal dose for dog/cats per 20 lbs?
5 years ago- A: There isn't a specific answer to this as there are a lot of variables that may influence the degree of toxicity of the active ingredient, including age, weight, sex, underlying health conditions or disease, and genetics. However, based on available scientific data, a general guideline is that for a dog larger than 40 lbs, ingesting 4 or fewer chunx of this type of bait (Tomcat made with Bromethalin) should pose little danger, but you should continue to monitor their health and consult a veterinarian if necessary.5 years agoHelpful?
Q: Is this product safe for cats? If a mouse ingested the bait and my cat ate the mouse will it harm the cat?
5 years ago- A: The risk of "secondary poisoning" - when a cat is eats a mouse that consumed a rodenticide, can be impacted by a lot of different variables - the age, weight, genetics and underlying health of the cat. It will also depend how many rodents are eaten, and how much bait the rodents consumed. This particular product contains Bromethalin, which does not require very much bait to be eaten (1 block can kill up to 12 mice), and to our knowledge there has never been a documented case of secondary poisoning with Bromethalin. While consuming a single rodent is unlikely to significantly harm most healthy cats, repeated exposure should be avoided. You can reduce the risk of secondary poisoning by promptly picking up dead rodents and supervising your cat during the rodent control effort. If you are concerned that your pet has consumed poisoned rodents, contact the poison service (1-877-854-2494) or a veterinarian.5 years agoHelpful?
Q: Will it work on rats also?
7 years ago- A: While the bait inside the station works on both rats and mice, the opening to the station is not large enough for a rat to get in and access the Bait Block. For dealing with a rat problem, we suggest purchasing a Rat-sized station, which is available both in a disposable and refillable option sold at Tractor Supply.7 years agoHelpful?
Q: Will this product kill chipmunks
8 years ago- A: No testing has been done to confirm whether this product has any effect on Chipmunks, and its doubtful that chipmunks would be able to enter the station based on the size of the opening. Regardless, baiting for any animal species that isn't specified on the product label is not allowed, and we do not recommend using it for any purpose beyond the label instructions.8 years agoHelpful?
