Always keep toxicants out of the reach of non-target animals by using bait stations. Applications should be made by breaking up the blocks along the score marks and insert the small blocks on metal rods found inside of a bait station. Secure the lid which keeps the bait out of the reach of the animal and secure the bait station.

A: Secondary poisoning is a question we get asked about a lot. Unfortunately there are relatively few studies that accurately assess this risk and it can be affected by many factors: the species and sensitivity of the animal to the active ingredient (poison), the amount of bait eaten by the rodent, and the length of time the poison remains in the rodent. Lab studies show that secondary poisoning from the active ingredient in this product (diphacinone) can occur with repeated daily consumption of rodents by some species of mammals and birds. While in general, consuming a single diphacinone-poisoned rodent is not likely to cause secondary toxicity in most healthy animals, repeated feeding on poisoned rodents should be avoided. You can reduce the potential risk of secondary poisoning by supervising pets or controlling the access of the chickens to the area where rodenticides are used and by promptly removing dead rodents.

Rodent Poison can be toxic to any animal, and as a result should be applied in areas that are out of reach of any "non-target" animals such as pets, livestock or wildlife.
