The Works Power Drum Auger is a great little machine that makes unclogging drains a simple process. First off it is ready to go right out of the box-- I was feeding the well built, metal snake down the pipe within seconds. Additionally, the auger Is very easy to use. When encountering a sharp turn in the pipe, a couple of rotations on the very easy to operate auger keeps the snake moving. And when you hit the clog, the spinning auger makes short work of the problem. Surprisingly, pushing the snake back into the drum, then feeding it back into the pipe, back and forth several times resulted in zero problems. Finally, to clean the Power Drum Auger, I ran the entire snake into my deep sink rinsed it off, put it out in the sun to dry, pushed the snake back in, and I was done. All in all I recommend this product. It's sturdy enough to do the job, easy to operate, and most importantly, the rotating drum auger does a great job getting through the clog.

Quality tool. There was no kinking of the wire under push/pull operations and drum turning thanks to adequate wire thickness. Wire is connected to drum internally so it will not fall out of drum and into pipe. Large handle more than enough leverage to turn drum. The only flaw is the metal bushing holding the thumbscrew tends to fall off during heavy use. It has a course internal thread which screws onto the drum spindle, which is plastic, so I didn't want to over tighten it. When auger fully extended it is a little tricky to retract. I had to push the auger into drum with enough force to cause its end to transition from being straight to begin curling up inside drum. After that retraction is easy.
