Q: Spring lubrication. The 4x6 galvalume kit trailer has slipper springs. Does the sliding portion of the spring get any lubrication?
5 months ago- A: Hi there Doug, Our Galvalume 4x6 Kit Trailers that come with the Dexter Spring Axles. Dexter single-spring slipper springs are designed to operate dry and do not require lubrication at the sliding contact point. Applying grease or oil can actually attract dirt and debris, which may accelerate wear. As part of normal maintenance, we recommend periodic visual inspection of the springs and hardware to ensure everything remains in good condition.
