The Standlee Premium Western Forage Premium Alfalfa/Timothy Hay Pellet Horse Feed is made from high-quality sun-cured, forage formed into 1/4 in. pellets that are easy to measure and easy to feed. Standlee's blend of Alfalfa hay and Timothy hay is moderate in protein, moderate to low in sugar, and highly palatable, ensuring that your horse will enjoy every bite, encouraging better feed consumption and overall health. It provides a steady source of energy without the risk of excessive protein intake, reducing the risk of behavioral issues such as hyperactivity or excitability. Available in 40 lb. bags. Made in the USA.

Standlee recommends that pelleted and cubed forage not be the sole source of forage for horses since feeding some long-stem forage (hay) may help eliminate boredom and prevent stall vices. Feed Standlee at a rate of 2.0% of body weight per day. Gradually replace existing hay with Standlee over a 7-10 day period. For horses that have dental problems or for horses that aggressively consume their feed, Standlee is recommended to be fed wet, soaked in water (2 parts water to 1 part pellet or cube) for 30 minutes or until properly softened. Never feed moldy or insect infested forage to horses.
Gradually replace existing hay with Standlee over a 7-10 day period.

My pony came back from the trainers on the thin side. Since we limit the fresh grass intake I added these pellets to his daily feed schedule. The quality of hay in these pellets is better than what we get locally & it definitely helps in keeping a good weight on him. I soak them for about 15-20 minutes.

I bought this a month ago to start the 30 day feed trial after my mare had lost some weight over the winter. I can already see a difference that 1 scoop of these 2x a day is making! She is slowly starting to regain the weight, and this is great to supplement her diet considering grass is still not growing in full force yet for the season.

My easy keeper is on a balance rationer and hay but he needed a little more in these unusually cold temps to keep his weight consistent. Adding the alfalfa/timothy pellets was the perfect answer. He had a little more in his feed bucket which made it easy to add a salt to his diet and increased his calories just enough. He has never looked or felt better!

We have been using these alfalfa Timothy pellets successfully for years. The last two bags we purchased require over 3 hours of soak time and while maybe coincidence our horses acting agitated since we started her on these new bags of pellets
