Cheap wire connection

Bought 2 of these a month ago and both were working great. Checked on cameras and both wires were broken. Wire definitely needs to be upgraded.

No, I do not recommend this product.

They work great until a squirrel chews the cable and SPYPOINT doesn’t offer a replacement cable

Game changer

I have purchased two of these now to try to get away from expensive batteries. This has been a great decision. Leave your cameras out all year

Worked for 7 months

We have had the Spypoint Flex G-36 out since end of November and on July 4th it quit communicating. I was wrong in assuming that having a solar panel attached would keep batteries going. That being said, it has worked great for over 7 months. We now just have to make the 4 hour trip to change out internal batteries and recharge the solar panel. That being said, we have on average at least one picture sent to app every 2 hours when communicating and a couple with every motion. On a busy day we could get upwards of 24+ pictures, so I guess it has worked great for us for over 7 months. Very happy with product.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Long Lasting

I purchased a few of these solar panels and I have been impressed. They really last a long time and let the camera maximize the power. A few of my panels have been out for almost 2 years.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Keeps camera powered

I have a Flex camera located in the pine woods facing north. I tried a Flex-S but there wasn't enough sun to keep it charged. This solar panel is much bigger and can be positioned independent ly of the camera. Now months later the camera batteries are still at 86%.I did brush snow off once, not much snow this winter. The solar panel has a lot of ports and comes with a lot of cables. Seems excessively complicated but I was able to get it installed in the dark. I am guessing I could use it to charge my phone if necessary. I don't screw into my trees, I use the included strap. I used the screw bracket to get what I think is a good sun angle. It works using the parts included. The cable is long enough to reach the opposite side of a large tree. It won't work to position the solar panel at the top of the tree. Realistically, I am not going to the top of the tree to mount a solar panel even if that is where the sunlight is. I might consider mounting the solar panel on a different tree if a longer cable was available but it is working and a longer cable is going to be more likely to be damaged by falling trees or gnawing animals. It is working well as is. There will be more needles on the trees in the summer but it is big enough I expect it to keep working well. Unlike a Flex-S, the app doesnt show the battery charge of the SLB-22 internal battery.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Works Great

I have tried the "Built in Solar" models and sorry but they all seemed to have issues whether it was getting wet inside the camera or just not holding a charge. The SPLB-22 in my opinion is a simple and tested (over a year now) solution. As of today I have had Zero issues with the four I have bought, these have already paid for themselves with what I have saved in buying batteries and not having to take the time to change batteries. If you want a "Set it and Forget it" solution these are worth the money. Charge the panel completely before taking it to the woods, make sure to have adequate expose to the sun, connect to camera and you are good to go!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Seems to work well so far.

I have a Spypoint Flex that, although a decent camera, eats batteries like a fat kid given a plate of cookies. I found that not everyone uses the same size plug for solar panels and until this panel came out, I was using a satellite battery. Again, even it didn't last very long in colder weather . I have had this one in use for about a year without any issues. The camera is a different story. Because of the camera issues, I pulled the camera which left me with a spare solar panel. I have a couple of Moultrie feeders with their branded solar panel on them alone (no internal battery connected) and they stay running until one of the solar panels quit. Since I had the Spypoint solar panel not running anything else, I put it on the feeder (Same size plug) and have been running it since. I have enough confidence in this solar panel to order another one to have to get the Spypoint camera up and running again. It will run fine with the solar panel plugged in but not on just the internal batteries. Must be a short or bad battery pack connection. Either way, the solar panel is a must if you run a Spypoint camera unless you like to keep replacing batteries or pulling rechargables. My cameras are remote (some 25 miles away) and run all year long, so I don't want to have to tend to dealing with batteries.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Great panel and works as it should so far. I have had it out for several months and it is working great. Only thing that would be better is that they do not include a swivel bracket for the end of the metal tree mount and with out it the metal bracket that is included will not work. I purchased a 1/4 20 swivel bracket so I could use the screw in bracket instead of the included strap. This allows the panel to be tilted better to catch the sun than the strap

Yes, I recommend this product.

Work great for now

I just bought it. So far it's going well. The overall quality of the product is very good. He seem strong, and made to last long. The panel's support isn't quite appropriate for the size of the panel. I took another support that works better for the install. The price is really good considering that the built-in battery is more powerful than many other solar panel with built-in battery on the market. Now... The LED indicator on the panel... Currently on the Spypoint panel, green means it's charging, and red means it's fully charged... It would have been much easier to have: Yellow or red when charging, and green when the battery is fully charged. Most solar systems use yellow when charging and green when fully charged. And red when it's dead... Why do the opposite?

Yes, I recommend this product.
