SmartEquine Equi Treat - Peppermint - 8 oz.

I have bought this product many times before smart equine purchased the brand and have always loved it. This is my first bag of the smart equine version, and about a quarter of the bags weight was in powder. I hope this was an isolated issue with this particular run because I absolutely adore this product. It is the perfect training treat, a great size with a tantalizing smell and flavor without having any sugar or other things that we don't need.

These are not the same as the prior Uckle product. A significant number of these treats in all of the bags I bought were crushed to dust and my horse doesn't like the treats that are whole. I suspect, as is usually the case, the formulation and/or quality of ingredients changed when Uckele was bought out by Covetrus/Smartpak. Maybe Chewy will do better.

I have two horses with alfalfa AND soy intolerance/allergies so finding suitable treats is HARD! They love the watermelon basil and peppermint flavors. I love the size of the treats and that they're low sugar on top of it all! My pickier eater was a bit weird about them initially but within a week, she loved them! Sometimes I'll order a smaller bag of a different flavor(still have to check the ingredients to avoid the ones with alfalfa) for a little change and she has yet to turn her nose up at any of them!

I know there’s no such thing as a “guilt-free” cookie, but these come so close! Being able to treat my horses to something low in sugar and starch makes me feel good about treating them--and makes them super happy. These treats range in size, but average around .75” long and .25” round, so it makes it easy to put in pockets and treat balls or hide in a hay bag. Don’t forget to try the yummy Apple Pie—while it feels like a fall flavor, it can be enjoyed anytime!
