- A: Hi, Looks like Mastergold SBL is a synthetic blend product. Our Rotella T4 is a conventional, you could use this or our Rotella T5 15W-40 synthetic blend. Note: The 15W- products don't have quite the low-temperature flow and pumpability of a 10W product. You could use Rotella T6 5W-40 which is full synthetic, having the widest temperature range. My 1994 F350 7.3L with 270k seemed to idle a little rougher running T3 but when I took the leap on running T4 I couldn’t be happier. My diesel runs like a brand new truck and no more leaking! My truck has been brought to a new level with Shell Rotella T4 15w-40 ! Very excited to see how she runs the next 3 to 4k miles ! Definitely an eye opening experience in my journey with this truck .

Which diesel engine oil to use can come down to personal preference and mine is the T-4 Rotella. My father uses it in his 1992 1st gen Dodge Cummins. I use it in my 2001 Dodge Cummins 2nd gen. And I had to use in my 4th gen 2010 megacab Dodge Cummins as the emissions control requires the oil changes more frequently and T4 Rotella is one of the few recommended oils. Over 700,000 trouble free miles thanks to T4 Rotella. The 2.5 gallon container is super convenient and two cost 1 cent more than the 5 gallon bucket.
