Our orders ship Monday through Friday. Orders received after 1PM CST on Friday will ship the following Monday. Sentinel Spectrum is indicated for the prevention of heartworm disease, the prevention and control of flea populations, and the treatment and control of adult roundworm, hookworm, whipworm, and tapeworm infections in dogs and puppies weighing two pounds or more and six weeks of age or older. They also sterilize adult fleas and prevent eggs from hatching, which protects against future flea infestations.<ul><li>Rx only</li><li>Available in 6- or 12-month supplies of Sentinel chews for dogs, depending on their weight</li><li>Formulated to remove and control roundworm and whipworm infections, prevent heartworm disease and prevent and control adult hookworms, fleas and adult tapeworms</li><li>Helps to sterilize adult fleas and prevent flea eggs from hatching</li><li>Use with puppies and dogs older than 6 weeks and weighing 2 lb.</li></ul><b>How it Works</b><br><br>One active ingredient of Sentinel Spectrum, milbemycin oxime:<ul><li>Is a macrocyclic anthelmintic, thought to work by impeding invertebrate neurotransmission</li><li>Kills heartworm larvae in the tissue stage</li><li>Eliminates hookworm (Ancylostoma caninum) in the adult stage</li><li>Eradicates whipworm (Trichuris vulpis), roundworm (Toxocara canis and Toxascaris leonina), and hookworm (Ancylostoma caninum) infestations, as long as the medication is orally administered following the recommended dosage schedule.</li></ul>Lufenuron manages fleas by preventing egg development, but it does not kill fleas in the adult stage. For this reason, it may be prudent to administer an adulticide concurrently.<br><br><b>Special Precautions</b><ul><li>Safe use in puppies under 11 weeks old or in nursing or pregnant dogs has not been proven.</li><li>A short-term shock-like reaction may occur if an adult heartworm-infected animal (therefore experiencing circulating microfilariae) is dosed with Sentinel Spectrum. To prevent this from occurring, an adult heartworm test should be performed before starting this medication.
