Q&As

1 - 7 of 7 Questions

Q: How much Seafoam do I need for forty gallons of diesel

1 Answer
  • A: Hi Keith. You can either add 3 cans to 40 gallons... Or wait till you're around 10 to 16 gallons and use one can, just drive down the fuel a about 100 miles before filling the tank. Hope that makes sense!

Q: Can I Use in a lawn mower? How?

1 Answer
  • A: Yes, adding Sea Foam to lawn mower fuel works great to clean carburetor passageways. Just pour in the fuel tank and operate as normal. Sea Foam works to clean while passing from the tank, through the carburetor, then into the combustion chamber.

Q: How many ounces does it take for a 38 gallon diesel tank on a 2000 F350

1 Answer
  • A: If treating a full 38-gal tank would add at least 38 oz of Sea Foam. A more cost-effective way would be adding a 16 oz can (or more) when the tank has less than 16 gallons and drive at least 60 miles before adding fuel. Hope this helps!

Q: How long until the water in wave runner gas tank would be evaporated  On an average? Based on a 13 gallon tank

1 Answer
  • A: Sea Foam does not work the same as some products. It does not evaporate water. It breaks up small amounts of moisture into small bubbles so it will pass through the fuel system. If you have a lot of water in the tank you will need to drain the fuel and start fresh.

Bad bottle design

The product may work but the bottle design is terrible!! I wasted the whole bottle trying to get in my tank. Its one thing if I was warned that I would also need to bring a funnel to the gas station.

Yes, I recommend this product.

This product works wonders!

I decided to try the seafoam in my 2017 dodge charger that has over 155k in the odometer. The YT videos were positive, but I admit I was skeptical. My vehicle was due for an oil change and I put in the high mileage version in the crankcase, the regular version in the fuel tank as well as using the spray.i followed the directions and all i say is this product is amazing! It’s super responsive and the engine is much quieter and is very smooth. Acceleration is on par like it was the day I bought.i San a believer in this product now and will continue to use it in my maintenance schedule.

Amazing stuff. I have been using on a 6 hp outboard on our tender/dinghy. I’m recommending this product to everyone who will listen… Especially if they have finicky engines/fuel systems. I only discovered it 3 to 4 years ago and I’m about to buy my fifth or sixth can of it. I’ve given some to my neighbours at the marina, as well as some friends. Used it to treat my lawnmower and backup generator too. This is one of those rare products where you feel great about the purchase. It’s that good.

A "fountain of youth" for my 2012 Soul!

I have a 2012 Kia Soul (base) with 155k. It had been slowly losing mileage and power over several months, despite regular maintenance. I found the Q&A section on your site, read the recommended treatments and user results, so I tried it. Put the directed amount into the crank case (cold engine), pegged it at 2k RPM until it reached operating temp, then let it sit overnight. The rest I put in the full gas tank (that use I've done before over the years). Driving to work the next morning, my old Soul gained 4 mpg and had renewed power! 5 days in, and it's only gotten better! From dismal 17 city/26 hwy to 27/30-31! Almost-new mileage! I observed 32-33 mpg on today's 30-mile interstate drive to a friend's house... Haven't gotten better than 26 for months! I can feel the new pep, too: even in 6th, it's got more oomph, even with that 122-hp Gen2 motor.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Don't Do It

Tried this in my crankcase oil of my 04 Dodge Diesel. 190K miles and never had a leak. Drove it for 200 miles then went to change oil and noticed rear main seal now leaking. Coincidence not sure but I have seen similar reports of this. I would not recommend this in your crankcase at this time.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Works! Ford 3 liter duatec taurus

Recently had a tune up. Had a miss on two plugs before the change.plugs were carbon coated bad that came out.i refilled 18 gallon tank two times with a can of regular seafoam. Saw a difference on the first can. Used a can on a half a tank the next. On my third tank I changed to 93 octane premium with a half can. Wow! Immediate difference. Could just be me but the higher octane helped the process.thumbs up.anyone else have this effect? No stumble .fuel mileage through the roof.

30 years and still going strong with Sea Foam.

In 1994 we bought our 1st snowmobile, added 3 more to the family. That was 30 years ago! Plus we have 3 ATV type vehicles and 2 boats. We have religiously used Sea Foam in our gasoline engines for 30 years. If you care about clean fuel systems, we at Smith Farms believe Sea Foam has the best products and look forward to another 30 years of performance. Top notch products for everyday use, it sells itself.

I was running a little rough after 13 years on my F-150. Got new plugs. No change. Dumped in a can of Seafoam in a quarter tank and filled up. Drove around normal errands and it got smoother. Drove to Florida 1,200 miles no problems. Got 113k on the ‘09 4.6 V8!

Blue smoke gone

Had carbon build up on my rings which caused engine to blow blue smoke. Ran down to half tank of fuel added 2 cans to gas tank, 6 oz. to engine oil. Ran vehicle in 3rd gear revving to 4000 and let off continued this cycle for about 10 miles. Noticed no smoke and oil catch can I installed had smaller and smaller amounts of oil in it. Change oil to full synthetic and after a few weeks still no smoke and catch can only has minimal amount. Worked great for me!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Seafoam High Mileage is an AWESOME product!

I have a 2012 Nissan Xterra with 78,000 + miles that I use for my beach fishing here in NJ. It has been running a bit rough and the acceleration was sluggish. I mentioned this to my son and he recommended I try Seafoam High Mileage. I poured it into my gas tank yesterday and filled the tank with gas. Today I did a 90 mile round trip at an average of 65 MPH and I could not believe the increase in the performance of the engine. The smoothness at idle and the acceleration is astounding and it feels like a new engine is now in my truck.

Yes, I recommend this product.
