Use the Scotts Turf Builder EdgeGuard Mini Broadcast Spreader to apply fertilizer, grass seed, salt and ice melt. This lawn spreader comes pre-calibrated and ready-to-use, and holds up to 5,000 sq. ft. of Scotts product. When EdgeGuard is engaged, it will block off the right-side of the spreader pattern to prevent product from spreading onto non-lawn areas. Using the Scotts Turf Builder EdgeGuard Mini Broadcast Spreader is simple. To begin, turn rate control dial to the correct setting listed on the back of each Scotts product, pour the product in the hopper, then start spreading. The lawn spreader's design enhancements feature a curved hopper and dual-bladed agitator for smooth product funneling and consistent coverage. Not to mention, it is compact and features a fold-down handle for easy storage. Spreaders provide uniform coverage of granular products; without one, you may end up with uneven coverage of fertilizer or control products that can result in uneven feeding, weed, disease, or insect control. Scotts spreaders can also be used to distribute salt on walkways and driveways.

Edge Guard is Nice - Spreader is Sub-par

I like the Edge Guard feature to keep from wasting fertilizer on flower beds and the sidewalk. The spreader itself, though, left me with stripes in my yard, even though I followed the instructions to go every 2 feet. I was hoping this broadcast spreader would help prevent stripes I was getting from the drop spreader when I would miss a row. Somehow it still doesn't hit the mark. For the next application maybe I'll go a little closer or mark off 2 foot distances so I'm sure not to miss. 🤷♂️

Too much dispensed product ends up inside the wheels because the spinner is too low. Also I’m not fond of the rotating auger inside the hopper. It isn’t aggressive enough to “shovel” product down into the discharge chute.
No, I do not recommend this product.
