- A: Per the vendor: We suggest you measure your child's legs over the pants they will be wearing with the half chap in order to get the best fit. You will need two measurements: Height (back of knee straight down while your child is sitting in chair) and calf width (measure circumference of calf at widest point). The approximate measurements (in inches) for the Saxon Children's Equileather Half Chaps are below: Small: 11.8" Height, 11" Calf Medium: 12.6" Height, 11.8" Calf Large: 13.4" Height, 12.6" Calf3 years agoHelpful?

Bough the half shafts SIZE SMALL and the Paddock riding boots SIZE 13, for my 8 yr old. She is small and slim and they were a good fit, true to size, and they looked great, but we ended up going with the tall boots instead per her preference.
