Q&As

1 - 10 of 19 Questions

Q: Can I get a manual? Also what is the wind rating for the full system with pole bracket and gourds?

1 Answer
  • A: Please check your email for the IM. We always suggest to our customers that if high winds are expected to lower the pole at least one section until the storms move on. Like any situation dealing with Wind and wind gusts the gage to specify always varies depending on the gust that occur and how it hits the house(s) and poles.

  • A: You did not answer the original question for this person, The question has nothing to do with inventory. Is this what I can expect? The question was are the entry holes big enough!

Works great!

I added this to my royal wing house. I didn't have the little piece that went in the holes, so I just used a bolt and stuck it in the existing hole. It works perfectly and the martins took right to it. I only had 4 gourds so I went ahead and put them up, but I will be buying 2 more soon. Heath gourds worked perfectly tok

Possible design defect

These work very well, however the aluminum rods are hollow and have several holes drilled in them. I have two sets of these in use and so far the top rod on each has broken at the point where the perpendicular holes are drilled through the rods during high winds. They would likely be much stronger if they were not hollow due to the lengthwise hole. Otherwise they are great.

A winner!

These gourds have worked wonderfully for us! In fact we bought a second set for this summer and will probably buy at least one more for next year. They are easy to clean after the season as well. The Martins seem to approve!

Yes, I recommend this product.
