This is a great beginner pole

Not sure I wanted to invest a lot of $$ on a hobby I was unfamiliar with but this pole fit the needs, makes it easy to lower pole. Clip springs tend to get brittle if left to the elements all year ( I had to get a replacement set), recommend storing the pole during off season.

The worst PM pole ever made!

This is possibly the worst Purple Martin pole ever made - it will bend in moderate winds, it is near impossible to check on your Martins. There is no such thing as a beginner pole! A Purple Martin pole is sturdy and has a winch - this is neither. If you are considering buying this- don't - save your money up and get something decent!
