Q: why does the ingredient list state that these contain salt ? %hat's bad for squirrels and birds based on what I've read in the past what is a little bit of salt to you or I will kill a bird so that seems counterproductive to include salt in my opinion.

- A: Squirrel Logs do have an unusual odor. They cannot pinpoint exactly what the driver is but assume that it has something to do with the extrusion process used to press the sweet corn into such a hard log. Regardless, Squirrels love them. If the item is within “Use By” dating and has been properly stored (not outside in extreme heat conditions) it is fine to feed.3 years agoHelpful?
Q: do you just lay it on the ground or do you need to put it on a holder of some sort?

Seems like a good product. Squirrels still prefer the bird seed and haven't touched this. Even after crumbilng up and placing in a tray at the bottom of the feeder and at a separate post away from the bird feeders
