If you're interested in a prong and pinch training method for your pup, consider using this Retriever Easy-On Dog Prong Training Collar with Buckle. The collar's prongs, which are made from chrome-plated steel, provide pressure evenly around the dog's neck, mimicking the natural correction that one dog would give another. The steel is resistant to rusting and tarnishing for long-term reliability. Suitable for pets of all ages, this dog training collar is easy to put on and take off thanks to the side-release buckle. When used correctly, a dog prong collar can be an excellent training solution. Do not use this dog collar for tie out.

  • Made with electric welded, chrome-plated steel prongs to help train dogs
  • Prongs provide a natural correction that one dog would give another
  • Evenly distributes gentle, yet effective, pressure around the dog's neck rather than concentrating in specific areas to help reduce neck strain
  • Nylon loop section complete with a side-release buckle for quick and easy on and off
  • Durable construction won't tarnish, break or rust, ensuring long-lasting use
  • Limited closure prevents the collar from becoming too tight around the dog's neck
  • Serves as a safe and effective training tool when used properly
  • Suitable dog training collar for pets of all life stages
  • Note: Do not use this collar for tie out

Q&As

1 - 10 of 10 Questions

Q: Can you remove prongs to. Fit smaller dogs

1 Answer
  • A: Yes, you can remove prongs from an Easy-On Prong Training Collar (3mm x 18in) to fit a smaller dog. Prong collars are designed for easy length adjustment by adding or removing individual links. How to Remove Prongs Pinch the Link: Locate a middle link. Squeeze the two prongs of a single link together using your thumb and index finger. Unhook: While pinching, slide the prongs out of the metal loops of the adjacent link to disconnect them. Resize: Remove as many links as needed until the collar fits snugly around your dog’s neck. Reconnect: Squeeze the prongs of the remaining end link and insert them back into the loops of the other end to close the loop While you can shorten a 3mm collar, note that this gauge is typically recommended for dogs over 45–50 lbs. For very small dogs (under 40 lbs), a 2.25mm gauge is often preferred as it provides more precision and is lighter for their neck structure

Q: Does this collar come in different prong lengths? I heard from a trainor that you should use a small to medium prong. I cannot find any that list different prong sizes?

  • A: I have not seen any products that have listed prong length as an option.  My lab still pulls quite a lot but doesn't seem to mind the prongs and with the design the collar loosens considerably when she slows down.

ESCAPE HAZARD

Link failure on two separate occasions. The first time I thought maybe it was user error or a fluke. Since the first time it happened, I check each link before I put it on. On a walk I went to correct my dog, a link came undone, he got loose and went to chase after a cat while a snow plow was also going by. Luckily he came when I called him. This could have gone much much worse. I came to the reviews thikni just had a faulty collar, but there are multiple other reviews saying link failure.

No, I do not recommend this product.
