Q: This good for 14 week puppy

1 Answer
  • A: Most experts recommend waiting until your dog is at least 6 months old before introducing a prong collar, as younger puppies are still developing physically and mentally and may be too sensitive to the correction it provides; however, some trainers may use them on puppies as young as 4-6 months old if fitted properly and used with extreme caution

Q: The directions say to position the O ring on top. Which is the O ring? The circle ring or the 1/2 circle ring with the swivel attached?

  • A: The following website (www.coastalpet.com) has a video that shows how to put this collar on and also how to use it. Please direct the customer to this site, then to products, next to training products, chain chokes, and finally to #5590 Titan Pinch Link Training Collar. That is where the product description is as well as the video.

Not recommended for large strong dogs

Unexpectedly came open when my 105 lb lab pulled on 3 separate occasions. Must buy different brand as I think the prong is not "U" shaped enough compared to others. Also chrome plating turning red labs fur with a dark ring.

Too hard to squeeze prongs to put on & take off. Otherwise, my dog responds to the prong/pinch collar in training.

Collar failure

So I purchased this collar for my 30 lb 3.5 mo th old pitbull puppy for training purposes. Works fine, except tonight he saw one of our cas and pulled hard enough that the collar cae apart at one of the metal li is and all he'll broke loose trying to catch him. Invest the extra money and buy a Herm Sprenger

Piece of junk!!!!

This collar is a piece of junk!!!!! It literally broke with my dog standing still and then my dog ran off!!!!! He's very hyper and isn't well trained yet which is why I bought this freaking collar. What's the point in paying $20 for a collar that breaks constantly!!!!

No, I do not recommend this product.

Perfect for my dogs!

They are great collars but they do rust eventually. I have 2 Cane Corso’s and they both walk amazingly with these, without them they would pull on the leash. At first they are a pain to get out but after a while it gets easier.
