Q: Can the bait pack just be added to the water or does it need to be opened and poured in?

- A: Howdy neighbor! The outer foil wrapper must be opened and discarded, but the inner clear bait packet should be dropped into the trap completely intact. This inner pouch is made of a specialized water-soluble material that will dissolve on its own once you add lukewarm water to the fill line. Within just a few minutes, the packet will melt away to seamlessly activate the attractant and start catching flies.2 days agoHelpful?

- A: Our water-based Fly Traps are meant for outdoor use only. While it is non-toxic, the attractant still produces a strong, unpleasant smell that you will not want to have inside. Due to the lack of airflow indoors, the attractant scent will concentrate in the area and make it harder for flies to find the trap. - A: Thankfully, the attractant inside our traps is non-toxic and made of food or feed-grade ingredients. The contents do have yeast, and ingested, it can cause an upset stomach, vomiting, and possibly diarrhea. If the trap contained flies, they can carry bacteria and may add to the gastrointestinal discomfort. It's a good idea to keep fresh water available for your dog and watch them for worsening symptoms. Ingesting the plastic parts of our traps can cause other issues, depending on your pet, what was consumed, and how much. If your concerns worsens, or your dog is behaving strangely, please contact Rocky Mountain Poison and Drug Safety at 1-866-767-5077. About a week in half ago I bought 4 of the hangable pouches from my local TSC. It had become obvious it was going to be a wicked year for flies. I hung 2 by 2 chicken chops I have, 1 by my garden, and the last near the main entry hoping to catch flies before they came into the house.
Within 3 days the ones by the coops were half full, the other about a quarter. Now they are all full and need replacing. They have a strong sort of decay smell but only noticeable when your right on top of them which must be the lure used to trick them into going inside. I'm pretty sure I'm also attracting the neighbors flies as well lol.
Great product and I'd fully recommend it.

Works way better than we anticipated!!

We do not have a noticable fly problem. However we started seeing more by our garage, so we bought the trap to try. It was out for less than 2 weeks and was completely full of dead flies. It does have a fermentation smell to it, because that's what it is doing, so I would recommend not putting it next to a walkway or house windows.

Amazing product

Bought this on a whim, and never expected it to work so well. After buying one, ran out and got three more. I put them all around my house. You will be shocked how fast this thing can fill up. Glad I watched a video and found out it is reusable. Get one and try it out.

Not working this year

I have used these traps for a couple of years but the ones I bought this year are not attracting flies. They apparently have changed the product. 3 days up and not 1 fly. Unfortunate.
