RESCUE! Disposable Outdoor Fly Trap is designed to control fly populations at the source with a lure they find irresistible. The lure pouch inside the bag dissolves and activates when water is added. Lured by the scent, flies enter the trap through the top cap and drown in the water. It catches up to 20,000 flies, and is an easy, efficient means to control flies, in a handy disposable bag.

Q: Can they be hung in the barn

1 Answer
  • A: Our water-based Fly Traps are meant for outdoor use only. While it is non-toxic, the attractant still produces a strong, unpleasant smell that you will not want to have inside. We recommend placing these traps outside and at least 20 feet away from any building entrances, windows, and areas with human activity. By doing this, you can help attract flies out of your barn and prevent more from entering in the first place.

Q: What if my dog eats a bag before I prepare it for its intended use

  • A: The attractant inside our traps is non-toxic and made of food or feed-grade ingredients. The contents do have yeast, and ingested, it can cause an upset stomach, vomiting, and possibly diarrhea. If the trap contained flies, they can carry bacteria and may add to the gastrointestinal discomfort. It's a good idea to keep fresh water available for your dog and watch them for worsening symptoms. Ingesting the plastic parts of our traps can cause other issues, depending on your pet, what was consumed, and how much. If your concerns worsens, or your dog is behaving strangely, please contact Rocky Mountain Poison and Drug Safety at 1-866-767-5077. This a free hotline for our customers to speak directly with a veterinarian. We also have more information about the pet safety of our products at https://www.rescue.com/petsafety/.

Extremely effective for fly control

Highly effective at attracting and trapping flies! I have used this product, as well as the Pop! Bottle trap, the extra large bag, and refills in plastic soda bottles with 3D printed fly-trap tops to great success. All traps are filling quite quickly, and the "free" fly populations in my chicken coop, barn and even house are down dramatically. The black flies are still bugging my sheep, but the green bottle flies (one of the major contributors to fly-strike) and regular carrion flies are hardly arround them at all. It's important to check water levels, especially as the temperatures climb, and top them off every week or so so that there is enough liquid to still drown and kill the trapped flies, but man do they work! Disposal can be a bit yucky... Make sure you have a plastic bag you can toss the entire trap into and then tie shut before you put them in the trash. The smell is noticeable, but if they're more than 15 or so feet from where people regularly are it isn't troubling, the flies sure love the stink!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Did not work and smelled awful

This trap did not catch any flies but the contents did putrify and produce the most disgusting smell. Did not know what was causing the smell, but finally figured out-I thought something had died in my barn. Turned out it was this trap. Would not recommend. Waste of money and hassle to get rid of rotten trap with liquid contents.
