I started buying this about three months ago, I have one 39 year old and one 40 who can be extremely hard keepers during the winter this feed made there winter coats shine made them look young again I highly recommend! Wish the price was better!

Choke before the end of first bag

I usually buy textured nutrena feeds. They were out so I got this as a complimentary alternative. This is a dry pellet feed with a lot of shredded Beet pulp mixed in. You can see the beet pulp. My horse choked on it within the first bag. After horse ER call included. I won’t be buying again and if be careful if you aren’t soaking this feed.

I have an older horse who wasn’t doing well on his previous food and I switched to something that is no longer available through Tractor Supply and then to Now senior Ultium and I have to say he is thriving. He is a good weight. He’s maintaining weight. His condition is better. His coat is looking better. His personality is better and his teeth aren’t the greatest so it’s easy for him to chew and he really enjoys it, which is always a bonus. Purina products are backed by science and years of testing before product release.

Both my 26 yr. old Paint gelding and 15 yr old OTTB mare are on this senior feed and it's done wonders for them. My 26 yr old comes in at a forward trot keeping up with the OTTB for his meals, nickering excitedly. I get a lot of compliments on how good they both look. Their bright eyes, shiny coats and lively, friendly dispositions say it all. I'm very happy with this senior feed. The gut support, high fat and low sugar make this a very healthy choice for my horses.

My Horses Looked Horrible

I was really excited about feeding this grain to two of my senior mare. They’re both pretty easy keepers. After the first month of fully transitioning them, they started to drop weight. I increased the grain from 4 lbs a day to 6 lbs a day (which is well over the recommended amount) and they stilled awful! Ribs showing, hind quarters dropped down. I also noticed that one of my horse’s personalities was very different. She became a lot more pushy-which is not like her.
I ended transitioning them to a different grain that I’m feeding and they started to look SO much better. Will never feed this again.

This is a great feed, even to pickiest horse creatures, used to buy the regular Ultium by purina but all the horses in the barn who are on Ultium told me they liked Ultium Senior better, have to keep horses happy.

Horrible Delivery Service Again

I keep trying to use the delivery and subscription services from TSC and my advice is - just don’t. If you can get the app to actually work, just know that the subscription orders do not arrive when they are supposed to- which defeats the purpose of a subscription. They split the order into multiple different delivery drivers and keep sending a semi- truck to deliver items that do not require such a large transport- 10 bags of feed for example. Which means I have go pick up at the store- again, what is the purpose of selecting delivery?? When I get to the store, it is a comedy of errors for the staff to locate the items. This has happened enough times that I give up. Would rather drive to another town than continue this absurdity. The product is great- just have to buy somewhere else.

Hi, I just started using this feed about a month ago and have found it to be doing really well with my horses, gaining weight. All of my horses except 2 ponies, are seniors and struggle to keep their weight on, especially during the winter months. So far, i'm very pleased with this feed. Looking forward to the spring to get them caught up on their weight.

We have a 38 year old Tennessee Walker. His health was failing and he could not graze. His teeth had been floated probably for the last time. He began to get frail. The vet came and suggested we put him on Ulitum. THe transformation is incredible. His coat is full and shiny, he’s putting on weight, he’s active again. This is 100% attributable to Ultium.

For this for my 27 year old gelding that needs some fat on him. I opened the bag and it had weird white stuff, stuck to the grain(paper?, cob webs?) I am not even sure what it was. I took multiple pictures and videos and returned the bag to TSC! I didn’t even want to get a new one from them. I was switching my gelding on it per vet recommendations and very disappointed in the feed. Please tell Purina they really missed the mark here! Sad as I feed Purina to my dogs and cats too and have not had this terrible quality until I came to their grain.

This feed has been wonderful for my senior horses. They have been struggling with their top lines and this is the first feed to help them. My horse with bad teeth can easily eat this feed safely even without watering it which she hates. I love Purina feeds and this one certainly didn’t disappoint.
