I changed my horses over to Purina Smart Edge over a year ago. Each horse craves the next bite of feed. It dissolves easily for my horse that drops a lot of food. All three maintain their weight well on this feed, even throughout the Winter months. Their coats are healthy and shiny. I love that this feed is available locally and I don't have to have it shipped, and it is cost effective.

My horse was foundered last year and I put him on this and he has done great. It's kept his weight to a normal weight. He's not acting like he's hungry. He's got energy and he's doing good. We were long time Nutrena Safechoice customers, but after they change our feed of choice to “all stages” our horses stopped looking and performing as well on it, so after some research and reaching out to a Purina rep about their Smartedge feed, I decide to switch. I’m so glad I did because our young gelding and SR mare loved it and started looking and feeling great again. Recently, My 25 yr old mare started having trouble keeping weight on, so I thought I’d try her on Smartedge Sr to see how she does, especially since she’s never had to be on a sr feed, and so far after a couple of months, she is doing anomaly well, and loves it too. We may switch her back to the reg Smartedge when the fall/winter grasses change and the round hays bale are brought in, but if need too, we’ll definitely keep her on Smartedge Sr.

This feed is a great value. It put weight on my OTTB gelding with gastric issues, and wasn't as high priced as some of the other brands. It was hard to find a feed that didn't make him hotter, but this one is perfect. Fits my tight budget as well. Our elderly PPID mare who has a poor appetite is showing interest in this and I'm very relieved. This feed will put on those 50 pounds she needs in no time.

Really great, easy to feed pellet that my senior horses like and are doing very well on. I have one horse that is older and has almost no teeth. I spritz a little water on this and hand mix it and it's been really good for his weight and the texture is very easy for him to manage with just a little water. I have Morgans which tend to be a little beefy and this keeps their weight in check and they all love it. Even the young ones
