Q: Will it help crystals from developing ? My cat is 10 years old and we are feeding him Purina Pro Plan Urinary Tract Health. The veterinarian said he can never eat hard food again. With just the can food he’s not gaining any weight.

I started buying purina pro plan urinary health cat dry food about 3 months ago and mixed in dry purina cat chow to help with the transition I’ve seen a difference in my male who gets uti’s frequently by doing this he hasn’t had a uti since I’ve changed. Keeping my fingers crossed.

My boy cat has been using these products on and off for the past 4 months so far i think so good. I pray that this urinary tract formula continues working through his urinary tract system. My cat unfortunately got an issue involving his urinary tract system and now to prevent future blockages and or other issues. He is to be on a very expensive prescription diet. Now don't get me wrong. The royal canin feline urinary food saved my cat's life. And I truly mean that. I am so very grateful for that brand food. However. It is very expensive. And I understand why. Because it works! But the runner up is purina pro plan. If you have both bags side by side. It's almost identical in ingredients. Actually. Purina has a few extra ingredients to be honest. But the food looks the same. Apparently it tastes the same because my baby boy eats it right up. And we have had no problems. It's good to know that your pet is alive and healthy and well especially if his health depends on his lifestyle at home and the food he HAS to eat now. Purina is very very reasonable and a great quality product. Thank you purina for saving my boys life as well. We'd be lost without you! ❤️ 🐾 🐈

Unfortunately, the bag will not reseal once I opened the bag. Also, my cats do not like the Chicken & Rice Formula and refuse to eat it. Does the Purina Pro Plan Urinary Tract Heath dry food come in any other available flavors? I hope I find that they do because my cats have to have Urinary Tract Heath Formula.

I have 6 cats but one refuses to eat dry cat food. I set a plate of this kibble down and the rest of them gobbled it up. I put my eldest cat on this every kibble off and on bc he has urinary issues that flare up due to stress. Vet told me this is apmost just as good as the prescription version. He has these issues every now and then also due to periods where he refuses to drink enough water. I try to supplement his diet with wet cat food too, but obviously it gets expensive. These diets aimed at addressing urinary issues typically increase a cats's urge to drink water, which is a serious plus. My main issue with this food is it tends to go bad quick if the room gets a bit too warm and the food isnt kept in the original bag and sealed up well. I've had bulk bags go bad after the forst momth and make my cat severely sick. Then I cannot get him back on the food with a fresh bag because he correlates the smell of the food with making him sick. I have to wait many months to a year.

Two of my male cats switched to this food due to a urinary problem they both developed. Since switching, my cats couldn't be happier! They both love the flavor of the food, and the best part is this food has kept them both from redeveloping any urinary problems so far!
