The Purina 30% Protein Starter Crumbles Game Bird Feed is a convenient way to provide the high protein and specific nutrients these young birds, different from baby chicks, require to start strong. A complete and balanced feed specifically formulated for pheasants, quail, chukars, guinea fowl and other exotic game birds from 0-6 weeks or turkeys 0-8 weeks of age. The crumbles are easy to feed, supporting strong intake so poults and game bird chicks can grow into healthy adult birds. Plus, this game bird feed is supplemented with Vitamin C to help bird during periods of heat stress.

If raising for eggs, feed Purina Game Bird 30% Protein Starter feed from 0 to 8 weeks. Then transition to Purina Flock Raiser feed from eight weeks to first egg (around week 28). Switch to a complete layer feed at the first egg.Peacocks: Feed Purina Game Bird 30% Protein Starter feed from 0 to 6 weeks. After week 6, switch to Purina Flock Raiser feed. When you start to see eggs, then it is time to transition. The males should remain on Game Bird Flight Conditioner. When the females stop laying eggs for the season, you can move everyone to Game Bird Maintenance to keep the birds from gaining too much weight in the off-season. When you ferment it, you change the nutrient profile of the feed so it is no longer meeting the nutrient requirements of the birds. Plus, do you know what bacteria that you are growing? This is really the only feed you can buy for birds like guineas and unfortunately most locations only sell the small bag in the physical store. It’s hard to find at all in some towns. I notice it’s either one of or the highest protein feed sold in tractor supply stores at all and it’s 100% necessary to have it if you’re raising guineas. They will get sick and faint if you feed them anything else. I remember one day one of my guineas had gotten extremely weak because I was ignorant enough to start them off with regular medicated feed. Horrible idea. I had to rush into town to get this and within a few hours of feeding it to my guinea chicks they all perked up again. I’ve kept them on it the whole time they were developing and they’re doing just fine.
