Q: picture shows nesting boxes a little higher than that slide out tray, mine is flush with it.??

1 Answer
  • A: For SKU# 1485300, the nesting box bottom and the slide-out tray are designed at the same height. The nesting boxes only look slightly higher due to perspective, camera angle, or the protruding edge, not because of any real deviation.

Q: how to winterize?

1 Answer
  • A: Winterizing your chicken coop focuses on keeping it dry, draft-free, and well-ventilated. Seal drafts, but leave high-up vents open to prevent deadly ammonia and moisture buildup. Add thick, fresh bedding (like the deep litter method) to insulate the floor. Finally, use specialized, fire-safe heating alternatives rather than heat lamps

Needs More Room in the Roosting/Nesting Area

I bought this chicken coop to house some young pullets. It works great for them so far but is getting crowded as they grow (five months old Sept. 2026). Judging by their size compared to grown hens, the coop just isn't large enough for more than three grown birds. As far as the chicken coop itself, it has worked out great. Well designed and innovative for a temporary pen. Some of my ten pullets have already started laying and seem to approve of the three nests. Since the coop isn't predator proof, I put a 10'x10'x6' chain link dog kennel around the coop and used PVC pipes to support a heavy duty tarp to completely cover the top. It will soon be time to move the pullets to my regular chicken pen where they'll have more room.

Great LITTLE coop

Great little coop. Maybe more suitable for three to four chickens. It was a little tight for 6 when they got big.

Serves its purpose

The hardware cloth needs to be zip tied. Its welded but a large coon could bust through. Dont forget to lay fencing underneath first. Ive had mine 1yr and some of the wood is starting to split as well. Re-painting/staining might prevent this. Overall not a bad buy. Just needs to be more predator resistant.
