Q&As

1 - 10 of 542 Questions

Q: How are the chickens supposed to get up to the roosting bars and nesting boxes?

1 Answer
  • AI-generated, Human-approved
A: This chicken coop does not include any ladders or ramps for the chickens to use. While the nesting boxes and roosting bars are elevated, chickens typically access them by jumping or flying up, though some owners choose to add their own ladders or ramps for easier accessibility.

1 Answer
  • A: The gate latches feature a pin lock system designed to prevent predators or small children from opening the doors. It’s cute

What I like: * Good size for a small flock — On the ground, I’d say it comfortably accommodates about 2 large ducks and 3 Call Ducks, but I wouldn’t recommend putting more ducks in it. * Good ventilation — It has plenty of airflow, which is important for ducks. * Cute/attractive design — It looks nice and is much more aesthetically pleasing than many basic duck houses. * Separate area — I really like that it has a separation area from the main run. That gives you flexibility for introducing a duck, separating an injured duck, or temporarily housing one. Things to know before buying: * Texas heat is an issue — Although it’s well ventilated, it doesn’t stay particularly cool. In Texas summers, you’ll need to think about additional shade/cooling. * Not predator/critter proof — I wouldn’t consider it secure enough straight out of the box. You’ll need to add additional protection depending on what predators and critters are around your property. * Needs level ground — This is a big one. If the ground isn’t level, the structure can shift enough that the doors don’t close properly. * Flooring isn’t ideal for a duck house — The flooring appears to be particle board, so repeated washing causes it to absorb water and swell. That’s probably my biggest construction complaint because ducks are, well… ducks. 😂 A duck house needs to tolerate moisture. Putting it together took 1/2 a day with no issues.

Yes, I recommend this product.
