- A: We do use stainless 201 which is what we believe the best for this model of bird cage and most safe for birds. In addition, Stainless steel grades 304 and 316 have high amounts of nickel and chromium which are likely not pet safe and are most commonly used for Commercial food grade equipment and appliances which are exposed to high heat. - A: Hello, According to the vendor, Item 3453 (Stainless Steel Playtop Home) is designed for medium to large size birds. These birds measure from 13" to 18" from beak to tail for a medium size bird and 18" to 24" from beak to tail for a large size bird. The green cheek conure is considered a medium size bird. Item 3453 does have a wire spacing of 3/4". The wire spacing recommendation for a green cheek conure is from 5/8" to 3/4" for a larger size conure. Even Nicer than I Expected

We’ve had this cage a month now and I’m still very impressed with it, I seldom write reviews but this cage was worth the time. The price at Tractor Supply was excellent and the shipping was quick for such a large item; the cage was delivered within a week from ordering. When assembling, I was blown away at the quality and especially shocked about how nice the wheels are; they are basically clear roller blade wheels. We could potentially dance with this cage on our hardwood floors, because it glides around with such ease (there are excellent wheel locks if you want the cage to stay put too). It took me 2 hours to put together by myself, not because it’s difficult but because it is well constructed...plus I confused the way the top ladders attach and had to redo (I don’t read instructions). The cage is a nice size and our bird loves his cage. It took him a couple of days to adjust to the feel of the metal perches, but he is fine with them now. I used to manage big box pet retail stores and have assembled countless cages in the past 20+ years, this cage is by far the nicest I’ve ever built. I’m very pleased with my purchase and have already recommended this cage to a friend who is getting a bird.

Love the stainless, easy to clean, well made.
Would have given it 5 stars but the play top is almost unusable because the cage is so low and my african grey just climbs down and gets on the floor. Could have used a bigger door.
