Some use a trowel or hoe to manually dig a trench, while others may use tools such as an edger or rent a trench digger, etc. The wire should be buried 1-3" below the surface; we would not recommend going deeper than this.3 months agoHelpful?

If you need more wire to cover the area you have, the transmitter that comes with this system can cover up to 25 acres, so you can certainly add compatible wire. Any 16-20 gauge copper insulated wire purchased from your local Tractor Supply or other hardware store can be used to add wire to this system.5 months agoHelpful?
Q: I want to install the wire in ground outside of my chain link fence, and my dog will be in the inside area of the chain link fence, will this work? Wil chainlink fence interfere with the signal, we don't have alot of room to burry the wire inside chainlin

For this reason, if using this fence in a yard that has chainlink, we would recommend running the wire 5-10 feet within the fence boundary to minimize the chance of interference. As you will need to do a double loop layout if covering only a back yard or only a front yard, this would extend the wire by several feet into the yard area. I hesitated going to the resort of putting in an electric fence. But after many escapes under the fence, I knew that I had to do something. I have to say that this has done the trick. After putting up flags for the perimeter and my dogs getting shocked once, they quickly learned where the boundaries were. This has removed my anxiety about my dogs getting out. It was easy to install and programmable. You can set different levels for the collar. It has been a game changer. Highly recommended if you have escape artists! C
