The plastic is not a super thick plastic, but as long as you’re careful and pick it up by two sides, it’ll hold together just fine. I can picture the edges cracking if you were to try and pick it up by one side with a heavy load of litter. I’m using it for my rabbit, and it works well. It’s tall enough that they aren’t able to make a mess over the side, but short enough they can still hop over. Big enough for plenty of room to turn around. I’m not sure that it will last for decades to come, but for about $10 it does more than enough.

This item is a great size for my very large cat. The litter stays in box and my cat seems to enjoy the extra room.

I bought this pan for the correct size to fit inside my iguana cages for them to bathe in, the algae seems to come off easily so far. For my purpose, a heavier pan would have been better.
