The On Time Feeders Shakedown Feeder uses cutting edge frequency vibration technology to easily dispense the following without clogging or moisture problems: most any commercially available bagged deer attractant, rice bran, rice bran pellets, whole corn, cracked corn, deer protein pellets, soy beans, and many other deer feeds. It's extremely quiet and comes with a rain skirt too.Feeder requires use of good, 6v alkaline battery for proper function. Battery not included.

Q: Can this feeder be used for chicken feed, like flock crumbles? For reference, look at the Purina Flock Raiser product. I would like an automatic dispenser that will drop flock crumbles several times per day. Will this feeder work?

- A: Yes, this feeder should absolutely be able to do this. You will definitely need to be sure to use a good alkaline battery, not a heavy duty battery. The dispensary plate is adjustable. You will need to adjust it to your specific needs, and it is easy to adjust.2 years agoHelpful?

- A: Hi! The Rice Bran Feeder specifically feeds rice bran only. The Shakedown Feeder can be adjusted to feed not only rice bran, but most any attractant, corn, soy beans, protein pellets, etc.2 years agoHelpful?
Q: I just watched five seconds run time what is the lowest setting and how long is full hopper last?

- A: Hey Bob, The lowest setting would be for 1 second. How long it lasts would just depend on how long you decided to run, how many times a day, and exactly what you were feeding through it. The best way to calculate that would be if you get one, fill it with whatever feed you are wanting to use, and then run it with the feed dropping into a bucket (to catch it for reuse) to see the quantity each feed time will disperse and divide that into the quantity of feed to fill the barrel. That'll let you know how many runs you would get out of the full hopper.2 years agoHelpful?

Q: How far does this broadcast the feed in Will at 6 V solar panel work for keeping a charge on the battery?

- A: Hi Bob! This feeder does not broadcast feed. The feed drops straight down below the hopper. A good 6v alkaline battery is what the unit should have and works best by using one. It would not hurt to try to use it with a rechargeable battery and a solar panel, but you may find it does not work as it should.2 years agoHelpful?

- A: This unit works best using a good, 6v alkaline battery such as the Energizer 529. A rechargeable battery may work, but we have seen feeders not work due to a rechargeable battery being used.3 years agoHelpful?
Q: Could this be used for cat food? The food is about the same size as any commercial deer pellets. A gravity feeder is not sufficient, as cats will overeat if allowed-not to mention an open buffet for opossum and raccoons!

It does what it says it will do

I wish they had included pictures with how to put this together, I think I got everything but I don’t understand the rain skirt how it is supposed to look. This does what it says it will do. I bought it for my chickens so I could go away for the weekend. It is loud, they are scared of it and I don’t know yet if that is something they will get use to or not.
