The Hillman Hardware Essentials 1-5/8 in. Pipe Gate Clamp is ideal for bolt hooks or screw hooks with a 5/8 in. hook. It is adjustable to fix gate sag as needed. Made with steel with a zinc finish, this gate clamp is ready for whatever weather or regular wear and tear comes its way.
- Use with a screw hook (5/8 in. x 5 in.) or bolt hooks (5/8 in. x 8 in. or 5/8 in. x 12 in.)
- Can be used in right or left hand applications; ideal for pipe gates
- Adjustable for gate sag by rotating the screw or bolt hook in the post
- Steel for strength; zinc finish for durability
- Used during gate construction
- Adjustable gate clamp to fix gate sag
- Allows the gate to be lifted off of the screw hooks

Why doesn’t the information provided include the size of the post? There are a few sizes available, how is a person supposed to know what size this one is? The length of the products does not help as much as the part it mounts to would. This has return written on the wall.

Very poorly made

This product is very poorly made. The eye that fits over the fence post bolt is out of round and is not 5/8 inches in diameter. I examined every item in the bin and all were out of round and too small. The picture presented with this product does not represent its actual quality. I purchased two of these due to an emergency need to repair a cattle gate. I had to use a round tapered tire mounting tool to hammer the eye into a usable shape. Even then the hinge tries to bind and turn the bracket around the pipe gate.

Does not fit

First this is for the 1 5/8 tube gates, why is most important information is not given??.
Second the ones I bought were incorrectly manufactured and did not fit the hinge bolts specified, the hole for the hinge pin was too small, I had to heat (which burned off the protective zinc coating) and reform them.
REMEMBER IF YOU DO THIS THE GAS GIVEN OFF FROM THE ZINC IS DEADLY, AVOID THE GAS (SMOKE) AT ALL COSTS!!!!
