- A: If the pilot light is working but the heater won’t ignite, there could be an issue with the thermocouple, gas flow, or oxygen depletion sensor. Try holding the control knob down a little longer after lighting the pilot to let the thermocouple heat up. Saves our trailer batteries in cold weather

We bought this at the Olympia store for boondocking in our Airstream in cold weather. It has been keeping our 27-foot trailer at 50 degrees in temperatures in the low 20s at the Sun Valley Jazz Festival during its run time, which has been a reliable 7 hours each of 3 nights. Then the furnace kicks in for a couple of hours until we can turn on the generator again at 7:00. Much less demanding than running the furnace fan all night. Does better than we expected for heat and running time. Easy to use, good product.

Tip Over switch is actually a "shake" switch

I bought this to use in my golf cart. When I read about it I did see that it had a "tip over" switch. However, when I began to use it, I found out that the least little shake will cause the tip over switch to cut the gas completely off. I had to start it again each time that the cart moved. It does heat well and it starts easily but what a bummer that it cuts off with the least little shake. Would be great for a small area heater but it is not good at all for anything where it will be moving, like a golf cart.
