This Mighty Mule FM130 Wireless Gate Opening Sensor allows for hands free vehicle exiting from your property, providing guests the ability to exit without an entry/exit remote or digital keypad. The gate opening sensor detects mass metals in motion, such as cars, trucks, ATVs, UTVs, side by sides, and tractors. Compatible with all Mighty Mule gate openers, the wand of this automatic gate opener sensor has 100 ft. of range from the gate. This Mighty Mule wireless gate opening sensor should be buried at least 12 in. below the surface and within 3 to 12 ft. of your driveway that moving vehicles use to exit property.

- A: Hello, there is a very low chance that an animal alone could inadvertently open your gate because this sensor uses electromagnetic technology specifically designed to ignore non-metallic motion. Unlike standard motion sensors that detect heat or movement, this device only triggers when it senses a large mass of metal in motion.3 months agoHelpful?

- A: Keith - It does not right now but something we are looking into. Unless you are in a very cold environment the Batteries should only need changing every couple of years.2 years agoHelpful?
Q: If the gate is open from a previous vehicle, but with only 5 seconds left on the timer, will this product reset the timer when it detects a vehicle? 18 wheelers exiting the property are chancing it when the gate is open, destroying the gate.

- A: RLF Property - You would need a set of Safety Beams or an Exit Wand to detect a vehicle in the path of the gate. The closed timer will hold the gate open for 3-120 seconds, depending on customer setting, and then close the gate, so if you have not set it all the way to 120 seconds you can try that first. There’s nothing native in the system that would detect a vehicle in the gate path. You could add an accessory to “detect” a vehicle. Very easy to install but the 1st one wouldn't pair up with the control panel. I called customer support who walked me thru trouble shooting. He determined that it was defective. TSC provided a no-hassle replacement which worked perfectly. Even a bicycle will activate the gate.
