I've been feeding beet pulp pellets for over 20 years. This was my first time buying one bag of this product (store was out of the usual brand) I always soak than rinse the beet pulp (adviced by my vet) I was surprised that after rinsing how much dirt and sand and small rocks were found in a 5 gallon bucket. Talk about inducing sand colic in your horse!! If you love your animals please do not feed this product! No animal should consume this much dirt/sand/or rocks in one feeding! Take the time and soak and rinse and see what I'm talking about. All beet pulp has dirt/sand which is why my vet recommended soaking rinsing. But rocks! Come on, that is crazy! Also the dark colored pellets never broke up, what is that about!
