Got the job done
I did not want to dig, cement etc. for a roadside mail box stand that gets hit every so often anyway. This is working great "so far" over the past two months. I used bigger lag bolts that I had and of course predrilled the wood post.

Went in straight. No rocks. Happy!
Broke a bolt into the 4x4. Way too wimpy.
Should be 5/16". I pre-drilled the holes too.
Yes, I recommend this product.

So easy to Install
I needed to replace my wooden mailbox or fix the old one. I searched the internet and found this solution. I predrilled the hole for the lag bolts and I took it all outside to install. I’m 65 and don’t normally do this stuff anymore. They give you a piece of rebar to use to turn screw it into the ground. It went right down do easily I couldn’t believe it. I got it screwed on at the level I wanted and took the mailbox and set the post on top and since I predrilled the holes it was up and secure in minutes! I’m very impressed with this and not having to dig holes and pour cement was what I was wanting. I highly recommend it!
Yes, I recommend this product.

Quality product
The spike was difficult to screw into the ground but was sturdy enough to handle the torque. Maybe some sort of pilot hole would be a good idea. The end result is a strong base for my mailbox post that keeps it out of the dirt and away from termites.
Yes, I recommend this product.
