Majic Tractor Truck & Implement Enamel Paint is a durable, heavy-duty alkyd enamel paint specially formulated for excellent adhesion, and resistance to weathering and corrosion. It may be applied by brush or spray, and dries to a high gloss finish. For use on iron, steel, aluminum and properly primed galvanized metal. It dries to a high gloss finish. - A: Yes. Majic Tractor, Truck & Implement Primers & Enamels spray very well by way of conventional spray, HVLP, and Air-assisted Airless. Because of Majic T&I product’s solids content, they will need to be reduced (thinned) for spray application at a rate of 8:1 with Majic Reducer*, #8-0750 (8 parts T&I Kubota Orange to 1 part Majic Reducer). *Majic Reducer is a proprietary blend of “exempt” solvents that allow the host product to remain VOC compliant. This ratio is plus-or-minus, meaning that more, or less, reduction may be necessary depending on your equipment, the atmospheric conditions at the time of application, and of course, your personal preferences…8:1 is a good place to start. Remember that when spray Tractor & Implement products, it is critical that they be applied in thin coats (recommended 2.5 mils wet), then allow a minimum of 24 hours between coats. Product applied too heavy, and/or recoated too soon, will result in a film that won’t dry “hard” for several days…or longer. 2 coats are generally recommended over primer, or over a clean, & sound, existing coating. Option #1: Majic Catalyst Hardener, #8-0950, may be added to the final coat of Kubota Orange, for accelerated cure time, and a harder, more durable finish. Option #2: Majic Clear Coat High Gloss Lacquer may be applied over Kubota Orange for a higher, deeper gloss, and for greater color & gloss retention (UV resistance).7 years agoHelpful?

Excellent paint

I first tried the majestic tractor,truck, and implement paint over a year ago to paint a 96 S10 truck came out great! Paint was very easy to work with, the paint has held up great in the S.C. sun so I did not hesitate when wanting to repaint my 2000 S10 and picked out the Kubota Orange to paint the truck and I was not disappointed the paint came out great! I would recommend this paint to anyone also the excellent customer support that I received from Majestic Paints when I called with a few questions. Again I would recommend their products to anyone definitely a high quality product.

Well, it does cover like paint

If you need to paint something orange, this will work for you. As far as paint goes, it does well when applied with a HVLP spray gun. Unfortunately, it really isn't Kubota Orange. We needed to finish off an older tractor (1978 L-185) that was started with Valspar Kubota Orange. Since this brand is no longer carried at the TSC stores we shop at, we figured that you couldn't really mess up too bad with a pre-tinted paint. Well, we were wrong. This paint *IS NOT* original Kubota Orange. Once we shot the remaining sheet metal pieces and took them outside to install, we noticed that the new paint did not match the paint from last weekend. It wasn't even close. So, we ended up spending an extra four hours removing the hood and one fender painted with an accurate color in order to get it all to match. When we finished we parked the newly painted tractor inside the barn next to our almost new MX-4700. As it turns out, this color isn't even New Kubota Orange. Even in direct sunlight there is a noticable difference. It is a tad darker (more red). Maybe it is supposed to be Kioti Orange, or something else entirely. It was quite a disappointment after all of that work.
So, if you need to have *accurate* colors, go with Valspar - they offer both Kubota Orange and New Kubota Orange (and mark them as such). If you really don't care that much about accuracy, I guess this paint will get the job done. You will not save any money by choosing this paint over Valspar though.

Use a different brand paint

I bought two gallons of Kubota orange three bottles of hardener and one bottle of reducer for this project I have been ase Auto Body tech for 25 years I prepped the old paint by sanding it with 180 grit and wax and grease remover two times I sprayed the first tack coat on at 68° waited about two hours and it was tack free so I continued with a gloss coat which was sprayed at 80 degrees 8 Days Later the paint is still soft and has wrinkles in it do yourself a favor and find a different brand paint to use

I had to write a review after seening the negative comments. I spray painted John Deere 410 Backhoe two years ( Yellow of course ) with this and it looks great today.
I have some body shop experience and I'll say its good paint for the price. Like all paints of this type they need to be mixed correctly per temperature and humidity conditions to help determine the reduce ratios, type of reducers, and flash -time.... It sounds like some custom didn't add a harder or the mixture
was quite right.... Works Great and I will use again.

This paint is garbage. It doesn't harden up. Two weeks after application it is still soft and can be scraped off with your fingernail. This was applied to brand new, clean steel on a trailer. Waste of time and money. The lady at TS claims you need to put hardener in it even though it says it's not needed and completely optional on the can. Don't waste your money, and more importantly your time.

Coverage depends on undercoat

This Kubota color can perform very differently depending on the color of the primer. For example, if you're renewing rusted metal and prime it with oxide primer (e.g. Rustoleum Rusty Metal Primer), as recommended, the primer will still photograph through the color coat after many coats, even with the paint mixed and applied as recommended. This is very frustrating and you will use A LOT of paint to finish the job. The problem seems to be specific to lighter colors, as darker paints in this line cover quite well.
My recommendation is that if you've primed the surface with red oxide primer, do yourself a favor and prime it again with good old light gray autobody primer. You'll be a lot happier with the coverage and the color rendition that way.
Another tip: The Majic reducer and hardener aren't optional -- they're compulsory. Spend the extra and use their solvents.

Soft paint

I bought this paint to refinish a tractor. The tractor was sand blasted and primed prior to painting, couldn't get a better prep job prior to painting. I have used this paint years ago with very good results. I don't know what happened here , but the paint was still soft 4 weeks after spraying. I have sprayed paint many times in the last 25 years, from equipment to race cars, motorcycles and even street rods and never had this happen. We are in an climate controlled shop, with triple filtered air, and a commercial duty air dryer. The paint just would not hardened up, even though we followed their directions to the tee, used their reducer and hardener. We had to have the tractor sand blasted again, and because the paint was soft, this process was harder than usual. We finally went and got a automotive grade paint to finish the job. The tractor looks great ! I am tired of buying inferior products from tractor supply, and getting nothing more than an I'm sorry to hear that from them. Save yourself the headache and buy quality from the start.

Easy to spray, close match, 1/4 the cost of Kubota

Just finished spraying my front loader. The results are a bit more orange then the original paint but close enough for my needs. If I was touching up spots on the actual tractor I would buy from Kubota but for attachments this paint is a no brainer. I also used the reducer and hardener from TSC.

I bought a gallon of the Kubota orange to refinish a golf cart body, paint is easy to work with and forgiving on less than perfectly prepped surfaces. Even for a novice this is a good choice for your projects!

I use this to paint Kubota tractor great quality

This Majic paint company paint is really great. I paint the bucket of the front load on my Kubota tractor which I use to winter driveway plowing and basically 12 months of the year for everything else. This paint goes on smooth and is forgiving, looks great and lasts a very long time. Please do not ever stop selling Majic band implement paint it is the best I tried.
