Q: how much reducer and how much hardener do i need for a gallon of clear coat
a month ago1 Answer
- AI-assistedA: Hi Neighbor- This clear coat is packaged as "spray ready," and it is not recommended to use a reducer or hardener with it. The manufacturer states that the product is not compatible with the Majic Catalyst Hardener and should not be thinned with lacquer thinner.a month agoHelpful?
Q: Can this be thinned with a quality lacquer thinner?
6 months ago1 Answer
- A: Hi Neighbor! Reducing Majic Clear Coat is not recommended. This product is packaged as "spray ready" and is best applied through conventional spray, at about 30 psi and a 1.4 tip. If atmospheric conditions (cool temperatures, high humidity) cause issues with application, atomization or flow - stop spraying until conditions are within the "allowable" range. The solvent structure of Majic Clear Coat is unique, and will not blend well with more conventional solvents...do NOT reduce, nor clean-up, with Lacquer Thinner.5 months agoHelpful?
Q: How long do i need to wait to apply a second coat
7 months ago1 Answer
- A: Hi Neighbor! Apply using single light coats. Let dry a minimum of 24 hours between coats. It is dry when a fingernail can’t penetrate the coating.7 months agoHelpful?
Q: Why does it clump into little plastic balls when cleaning up with paint thinner as recommended? The solvent listed on the SDS is "mineral spirits", but that also causes it to clump up. It's too thick to spray and blows spider webs.

- A: Hi Neighbor! Please contact the manufacturer. You can also return to your local tractor supply store within 30 days.9 months agoHelpful?
Q: Should I add harder to this?
a year ago1 Answer
- A: This product should not be used with a harder or reducer.a year agoHelpful?
Q: is this compatible with Rust-Oleum 1 gal. Massey Ferguson Gray
a year ago1 Answer
- A: We can’t guarantee the compatibility of the two systems.a year agoHelpful?
Q: Is this product actually lacquer based or a modified enamel?
a year ago1 Answer
- A: This is a high gloss lacquer intended to be used over Majic Tractor, Truck & Implement Enamelsa year agoHelpful?
Q: Can this be used as a clear coat on a fiberglass boat
2 years ago1 Answer
- A: Yes, it can.2 years agoHelpful?
Q: If mixed properly with a hardener, can it be rolled on instead of sprayed? Project has been rolled with Rust-Oleum tractor paint.
3 years ago1 Answer
- A: As stated on the label, it is not compatible with the Majic Catalyst Hardener. It also should not be rolled, but only sprayed or light coats put on with a paint brush. Since the finish coat that your customer used was not Majic, we can’t guarantee the compatibility of the two systems.3 years agoHelpful?
Q: Can you use magic clear coat on plastic dog
4 years ago1 Answer
- A: We cannot recommend this for that application.4 years agoHelpful?

Terrible clear coat
Never drys/cures. 1 month later and it still leaves permanent pinger prints if you touch it. It also still leaves fingernail indents. That was only one coat too. I can't imaging how bad it would be if I had gone for the second coat.
No, I do not recommend this product.
