Horrible, Useless New Bags

These new bags are horrible. They keep splitting so I'm left with a big, stinky mess. I don't think the odor control is as good either. I've had at least two instances this year where the opening was up inside in the cartridge so far, I had to unravel the entire cartridge. It's almost possible to get the bags back inside the cartridge so I rolled the bags up and am cutting them as needed. Ridiculous and infuriating. I am looking for alternatives to Litter Genie as they are not listening to all the bad reviews of their product so they obviously don't care.

New quality is awful! The bags are a darker blue and split at the seams if you look at it the wrong way! I’m so disappointed and upset!

Using cheaper plastic, and it makes a difference!

I am giving this 3 stars because when I began using it around 10-15 years ago, the plastic was very sturdy. It was transparent, but didn't show so that didn't bother me. It was very sturdy, and you could never smell the contents. However, they have changed the plastic which is now a bright blue opaque color that feels much thinner. I still don't notice much smell, but have had numerous bags split when removing them to dispose. If this doesn't change soon, I'll have to look for an alternative because I'd prefer not to have to vacuum a mess every time I empty it. I've tried changing it out sooner, but it doesn't make a difference. It often still splits. Ugh!!

No longer reliable after product change

I’ve been using for 10+ years - new opaque bags in the refill are terrible. Never ever had a problem with a leaky bag before - now every single time I empty the litter genie I have to clean the bottom. The plastic makes me afraid it’s going to break as I exit my apartment which would leave a smelly mess. Brushed the bag on my pant leg as I walked to dumpster and my pants reek and went straight in the laundry. Very unsatisfactory how poor the quality became.
